What would you like to understand?

Working together

What kinds of organizations do you work with?

Blue Plug Technologies focuses on small and midsize organizations that need dependable IT operations, stronger security, or a clearer technology roadmap. Fit depends more on the environment, goals, and working relationship than on a single industry label.

Do we need to replace our current IT provider?

Not necessarily. We can discuss a focused assessment or project, supplement an internal team, coordinate with existing vendors, or explore an ongoing managed-services relationship. Responsibilities should be documented so ownership remains clear.

What happens during the first conversation?

We discuss the business outcome you want, the people and systems involved, timing constraints, known risks, and what has already been tried. Sensitive credentials are not needed for an introductory conversation.

Can we start with an assessment?

Yes. An assessment can establish a baseline, identify important gaps, and create prioritized recommendations before you commit to a larger project or recurring service.

What happens during onboarding?

Onboarding generally confirms the scope, contacts, responsibilities, systems, access requirements, vendors, documentation, communication paths, and immediate priorities. The exact steps depend on whether the engagement is an assessment, project, or managed service.

How are responsibilities documented?

The proposal and onboarding process should identify what Blue Plug is handling, what remains with your team, which third parties are involved, and how decisions or escalations move between them.

Services and security

How do you prioritize security findings?

We consider likely impact, urgency, business context, affected systems, dependencies, available resources, and the effort needed to reduce risk. The goal is an achievable roadmap rather than an undifferentiated list of findings.

What may be included in vulnerability management?

The scope may include discovery, review, prioritization, remediation planning, progress tracking, and recurring reassessment. The tools, systems, frequency, and remediation responsibilities are agreed upon for each engagement.

How do backup and recovery services work?

We help define what must be protected, how frequently backups should run, where appropriate copies should be stored, and what recovery priorities look like. A useful plan also includes job monitoring, verification, documented responsibilities, and recovery testing appropriate to the scope.

What is the difference between monitoring and managed response?

Monitoring creates visibility into system or security events. Managed response adds investigation, escalation, and coordinated action. Coverage windows, response responsibilities, contacts, and authority should be defined before service begins.

What should we do if we think an incident is happening now?

If you are an existing client, use the response contact process defined for your service. Otherwise, call 507-767-TECH (8324) and clearly state that the issue may be urgent. Do not email passwords, private keys, recovery codes, or other secrets.

Scope and pricing

Do you offer one-time projects and ongoing support?

Yes. Engagements may begin as an assessment, a defined implementation project, or ongoing managed support. Some organizations use a project to establish a foundation before moving into recurring service.

How do the managed-service tiers differ?

Essential IT focuses on core operations, Secure Operations adds recurring security-improvement work, and Complete Protection adds deeper detection, response coordination, recovery planning, and strategic guidance. Review the service-plan comparison for details.

How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on scope, environment size and complexity, users and devices, responsibilities, timing, coverage expectations, and service frequency. After discovery, we can define the work and provide an appropriate proposal.

Are after-hours support and emergency response automatically included?

No coverage level should be assumed. The proposal and service agreement should state support windows, response targets, escalation contacts, client prerequisites, exclusions, and any emergency-response terms that apply.

How do we get started?

Call 507-767-TECH (8324) or email info@blueplugtech.com with a short description of the outcome or problem you want to address. You can also use the contact page.
